No Meat Athletes, veg-curious athletes, fitness-curious vegetarians, and generally curious omnivores came together for a lively evening at our No Meat Athlete event at the Whole Foods Market Oakland store on October 28.
The crowd of over 50 people spilled out of the reserved space into the surrounding cafe seating, and the room was buzzing with enthusiasm. We discussed how to successfully integrate healthy lifestyle habits, how to eat and live more naturally, how to set and accomplish fitness goals big and small, and how to do it all on vegetarian fuel.
I love creating community around these topics, and this event did exactly that. Thanks to this event, my friend Karine Brighten met Sid Garza-Hillman and invited him to speak at the January 2014 Plant-Powered Health & Fitness Expo, for example. More events like this to come!
